Open Mic Night is a great way to share your poetry, music, or other talent with the community. -- Mulberry Inn Women with Children's Home is now open and New Beginnings of Lake County has scheduled a Garden Party from 3 - 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. Cheeser's Palace Cafe will cater the food for the event and visitors will have an opportunity to tour the home, meet the New Beginnings staff and program residents, learn more about this worthy cause which will rebuild lives. -- Community Arts Connection of South Lake has scheduled a class in "Calligraphy, The style of Chancery Cursive" from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. This is a great class for beginners or a refresher course for others. Students will learn the free flowing style of Chancery Cursive, using calligraphic ink and nibs, cartridge pen set or a calligraphy marker. A supply list will be given at registration. Cagan Crossings Community Library will be open 10 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Cooper Memorial Library hours will be 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Marion Baysinger Memorial Library new hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday

-- South Lake Art League has scheduled an eight week course in drawing for both adults and teens, age 16 and older from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. every Thursday until Nov. 19 at the League Gallery, 776 W. Montrose St., Clermont. Artist Beth Kreutz will be the instructor. The classes are for both beginning and intermediate students and will demonstrate a variety of media to enable students to gain skills needed to draw what they see.
